Suntrust Resort Holdings, Inc. (SUN), formerly Suntrust Home Developers, Inc., was incorporated on January 18, 1956 under the name Ramie Textiles, Inc. to engage in the manufacture and sale of all types of ramie products. In 2002, the Company changed its name from Fairmont Holdings to Suntrust Home Developers, Inc. The said change came hand in hand with a corresponding shift in SUN's primary purpose from a holding company to a real estate company authorized to engage in real estate development.
On June 17, 2020, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved the amendments to SUN's primary and secondary purposes from those of a real estate company to a tourism-oriented company authorized to engage in tourism-related businesses. The SEC subsequently approved the Company’s present name on June 8, 2022.
The Company has three wholly-owned subsidiaries, namely SWC Project Management Limited (SWCPML), WC Project Management Limited (WCPML), and Suntrust WC Hotel Inc. (WC Hotel). SWCPML and WCPML provide project management services, while WC Hotel is authorized to develop, operate, and manage hotels, wellness shops, cinemas, car parks, entertainment and amusement centers, and other tourism-related facilities.
On August 30, 2025, SUN entered into a strategic agreement with Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc. (TIHGI), Westside City, Inc. (WCI), Westside Bayshore Holdings Corporation (WBHC), and Entertainment City Resorts Corporation (ECRC) to expedite the completion of the expanded Westside City Integrated Resort Project in Entertainment City, Parañaque City. Under the agreement, SUN acquired its 40% interest in WBHC, giving it an indirect interest in ECRC, which holds the rights and obligations related to the project.
