Powering Up: First Gen Leads Market Rally, Converge Dips Amidst Shifting Sentiment

Market observers noted a dynamic trading session, with energy giant First Gen Corporation leading the charge among top gainers, while internet service provider Converge Information and Communications Technology Solutions, Inc. experienced a notable decline.

Top Gainers Shine Bright

Energy sector bellwether FIRST GEN CORPORATION (FGEN) powered its way to the top, surging by 28.40% or ₱6.05 to close at ₱27.35. The substantial gain was driven by a robust volume of 20,707,600 shares, translating to a total value of ₱543,025,020.00. Mining issues also saw significant interest, with DIZON COPPER-SILVER MINES, INC. (DIZ) climbing by 19.40% or ₱0.65, ending the day at ₱4.00. A total of 31,000 shares worth ₱119,550.00 were traded, reflecting positive sentiment in the metals market.
